Microneedling for Hair Regrowth

If you're dealing with thinning hair or hairline recession, microneedling could be your breakthrough solution. This minimally invasive, science-backed treatment stimulates hair follicle regeneration by triggering natural wound-healing pathways and enhancing the absorption of growth factors.

Who It’s For

How It Works

Microneedling uses a pen device fitted with ultra-fine sterile needles that puncture the scalp at controlled depths (usually 0.5–1.5mm). These micro-injuries trigger the body's wound-healing cascade, releasing growth factors and cytokines that reactivate dormant hair follicles.

At The Derm Edit, we can combine microneedling with topical application of platelet-rich plasma (PRP)/GFC/exosomes based on your customized plan—enhancing follicular stimulation and optimizing hair density.

What Happens During a Session?

The session starts with a scalp cleanse and high-resolution imaging to document your baseline. A topical anesthetic is applied to minimize discomfort. Once the scalp is numb (typically after 30 minutes), our dermatologist uses a motorized microneedling device—calibrated to a depth of 1.0–1.5mm—based on your hair density and scalp sensitivity.

The device creates uniform micro-channels across the treatment area. Simultaneously or immediately after, we apply bioactive compounds such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP), growth factor concentrate (GFC), or exosome solutions to enhance follicular response.

The session lasts 40–50 minutes. Mild erythema and tingling are common and usually subside within 12–24 hours. Patients can typically resume routine activities the next day, with hair washing allowed after 24 hours.
