Injection Dutasteride for Hair Loss
Injection Dutasteride is a targeted treatment that addresses one of the primary causes of patterned hair loss—DHT (dihydrotestosterone). By delivering the solution directly into the scalp, we offer a longer-lasting, lower-maintenance alternative to daily tablets, with results that speak for themselves. It's ideal for those looking for a focused, results-driven option with minimal systemic exposure.
Who It’s For
- Men with early to moderate androgenetic alopecia (male pattern baldness)
- Patients who cannot tolerate oral finasteride or dutasteride
- Post-hair transplant patients seeking long-term maintenance
- Women with physician-monitored hormonal hair thinning
How It Works
Dutasteride is a 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor that blocks the conversion of testosterone to DHT—responsible for miniaturizing hair follicles. When injected into the scalp at a concentration of 0.5–1.0 mg/mL, it provides a localized, sustained reduction in DHT activity for 3–6 months.
Our approach involves precise intradermal injections that work directly at the follicular level. This enhances absorption and minimizes potential side effects, helping you retain and regrow hair with a simple, hassle-free protocol.
What Happens During a Session?
After a scalp evaluation and consultation, a topical anesthetic is applied. Once numb, microinjections of Dutasteride are administered intradermally across the thinning zones using a fine 31G needle.
The procedure typically takes 30 minutes. Patients may experience mild swelling or redness for 24–48 hours. Results begin to appear immediately within a months' time and typically last 6 or more months. Optimal results are often achieved with 2–3 sessions spaced 1 or 2 month apart.
Safety & Follow-up
Injection Dutasteride is considered safe when performed by trained dermatologists. At The Derm Edit, all treatments are monitored using trichoscopy and clinical photography. Repeat sessions may be scheduled every month or alternative months based on your response and goals, ensuring sustained follicular support without frequent visits or maintenance.
